We think that the copying south movies is a new trend. But here we are sharing 15 block blusters of Anil Kapoor who were actually remakes of south films in 90’s only. Some were copied and some were remade by the same director.

15Eeshwar

Eeshwar is known as one of the power full film of Anil kapoor. It was directed by K. Vishwanath and Rajesh Malik and released in 1989. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Swathi Muthyam which starred Kamal Haasan and Raadhika.

14Abhimanyu

Abhimanyu is an directed by Tony Juneja and released in 1989. The movie stars Anil Kapoor, Kimi Katkar, Poonam Dhillon, Anita Raj. The film is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Sakalakala Vallavan, starring Kamal Haasan which was released in 1982.

13Jamai Raja

Jamai Raja that features Hema Malini, Anil Kapoor andMadhuri Dixit was directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy. It is a remake of 1989’s Telugu film Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu starring Vanisri, Chiranjeevi and Vijaya Shan.

12Beta

Beta that was most popular film because of “dhak dhak” song, directed by Indra Kumar. The film is an official remake of the 1969 Kannada film Mallammana Pavada, directed by Puttanna Kanagal. This is a second Hindi remake of the film with the first released in 1981 as Jyothi starring Jeetendra.

11Laadla

Laadla was released 17 April 1994, starring Sridevi, Anil Kapoor and Raveena Tandon. The film was notable because Divya Bharti was to star as the lead role Sheetal, filming most of the film. However, due to her untimely death in 1993, Laadla was re-filmed with Sridevi in the lead role. Laadla is the remake of Rajkumar’s blockbuster Kannada movie Anuraga Aralithu (1986). Before in 1992, it was filmed in both Telugu and Tamil as Gharana Mogudu and Mannan, respectively, starring Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth respectively.

10Andaz

Andaz is directed by David Dhawan and starring Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Karishma Kapoor, Kader Khan. It is a Remake of 1992 Telugu film Sundarakanda starring Venkatesh, which was a remake of Tamil film Sundara Kandam starring K. Bhagyaraj and Bhanupriya.

9Loafer

Loafer was also David Dhawan and produced by Surinder Kapoor and Sarang Sonalkar. The film was a remake of Telugu film Assembly Rowdy (1991) starring Divya Bharti and Mohan Babu which was remake of 1990 in Tamil film Velai Kidaichuduchu.

8Judaai

Judaai was released in 1997 starring Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, and Urmila Matondkar. Poonam Dhillon also makes a special appearance. The film was a remake of 1994 Telugu film Shubhalagnam. The film itself was remade into a television series, Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki.

7Virasat

Virasat is a 1997 Indian Hindi film, directed by Priyadarshan. The story was adapted from the Tamil film Thevar Magan starring Kamal hasan. The film marked the comeback for Priyadarshan in Hindi cinema. Music director Annu Malik reused some of the original tunes of Ilaiyaraaja from Thevar Magan

6Gharwali Baharwali

Gharwali Baharwali is a 1998 Bollywood comedy drama film directed by David Dhawan and produced by Tutu Sharma. The film is a remake of the Tamil film Thaikulame Thaikulame (1995) starring Pandiarajan and was remade in Telugu as Intlo Illalu Vantintlo Priyuralu (1996) with Venkatesh. It was also remade in Kannada as Naanu Nanna Hendthiru (1999) with Ravichandran

5Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain

Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain is a 1999 Bollywood drama film starring Anil Kapoor, Kajol, Anupam Kher and Shakti Kapoor. If you remember, Kajol was nominated for a Filmfare Best Actress Award. It is a remake of the Telugu film Pavithra Bandham starring Venkatesh andSoundarya. It was remade in Bengali as Saat Paake Bandha starring Jeet and Koel Mallick

4Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai

Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai isdirected by Satish Kaushik and was released on 24 August 2000. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Sonali Bendre in lead roles. It is a remake of the Telugu film Pellichesukundam. The song “Gham Hai Kyon” was copied from Tamil film Avvai Shanmugi “Kathala Kathala” song.

3Nayak

Nayak: The Real Hero is known as most successful and critically acclaimed movies of Anil Kapoor. It was released in 2001. the film was directed by Shankar. The film is a remake of his own successful Tamilfilm Mudhalvan (1999). The film’s score and soundtrack, composed by A. R. Rahman, were reused from Mudhalvan with Hindi lyrics.The film was a box-office failure, primarily because of poor marketing. It was one of the most expensive films to be completely shot in India. At the same time this film was remade in Bangladesh named “Minister” directed by Kazi Hayat starring Manna (actor), Moushumi, Dildar and Kazi Hayat

Calcutta Mail is a 2003 Indian thriller film starring Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji and Manisha Koirala. It was directed by Sudhir Mishra. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Choodalani Vundi.

No Entry is one of the block buster comedy films of Bollywood. It was released in 2005. It was directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor. The film features an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, Celina Jaitley and Bipasha Basuwith a cameo appearance by Sameera Reddy. This is a remake of the Tamil super hit Charlie Chaplin.
